Sabah, other than Mount Kinabalu, is famously known for its pearls.
Â

But for the last few years has brought a number of visitors looking for a new sought after items - an Austrian crystals with different colour - a cheaper alternative to diamonds.

A must for a women of all ages or a man who is trying hard to justify leaving their spouse back home - a gift of love at a reasonable price. A RM35 bracelet is similarly prized at more than RM80 in Kuala Lumpur - a real bargain if your travel is fully sponsored by your employer.

To add more values to the items, a custom made design is applicable. You can mix the colour and size of the crystals of your choice. Price is based on the number of pieces of the crystals. Pearls can be inserted in between to provide a Sabahan flavour. The girls at the Filipino Market in Kota Kinabalu will warned you about the possibility of faked crystals if you were planning to shop at the nearby Night Stall.
Â

Come to think of it, which is fakes and which is original. Crystals is not a diamond. The pearl is cultured. Gold is only plated.
For me, when I had a chance to be in Kota Kinabalu a few weeks ago, it is a refreshing one. It is time to capture the lost memories. But I am still not satisfied with my Ixus because of it inconsistent results.
Of course I prefer to use KLIA Express from KL Sentral. It the most convenience type transportation going to KLIA. But it all depends on where you are staying.
 KLIA Express
From the moment you arrived in KL Sentral, it will take you somewhere around 45-50 minutes including waiting time to be at the checkin counter in KLIA (the provider claims is around 28-29 minutes).

 Outside…
Â
 Inside…
Previously, Hyatt is the most convenience place for tourists. Now, Le Meridien is a latest edition to the many hotels in Kota Kinabalu.

Continuing from last article… On the 21st January I entered the Treasure Hunt organized by Tourism Ministry and managed by Take A Break in conjunction with a Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign. It covers area of Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Shah Alam, PJ, Titiwangsa and Pandan Indah. My team failed to get any placing out of about 170 cars but not the lucky draw. Prizes were presented to top 30 finishers. Main prize winners, for the Top 3 finishers, received RM3000, RM2000 and RM1000. A team in one car is between 2 to 4 hunters.
Â
Â
 Start and End…
In case you are not familiar with this game, I will provide you with some of the question and the answer you need to solved. There is also a treasure you have to hunt (actually buy) along the hunting journey. Sometime, you have to face a challenge similar to Amazing Race or Explorace but this is not a must in Treasure Hunt. The race can have more than one stage where the answer will be submitted at every stage before getting to next stage question. This is to avoid a manipulation (to reduce time) by a few teams joining together and sharing an answer.
In a way you may call this a one day Amazing Race. But in Treasure Hunt you can skip some of the question or gamble on your answer, and can still manage a good placing. Previously, Treasure Hunt requires a tulip reader (a map reader similar to car rally). In recent years, due to the difficulty in managing the hunters (some got lost during the race), the game have been simplified. Some have been called a Walk-A-Hunt because of the nature of the Treasure Hunt.
 The Challenge…
Breaking the clues and finding the answer is similarly difficult. The question might be of Container or Anagram category. But due to the heavily tricky question, you will never be really sure which category it belongs to. The clues will regularly produce multiple answers you have to choose. Only the correct one in which is similar to the organiser’s count.
There are few expert teams in this game that you have to face. To be a top finisher with these teams joining is a real challenge and seems impossible - I wonder how these teams manage to get a full mark or a few incorrect answers at the end point. To be on par with them you have to enter as many Treasure Hunts as possible. I, myself is not an expert in this game, but I can manage to break some puzzled question and provide a clues and finally a correct answer.
Other than Hunters tools like dictionary, mobile phone, digital camera and binocular, a good general knowledge is also an important factor to win the game. And you need to be extremely good in Bahasa and English. Some Questions might have a mix clues and answers in both languages. For examples:
Question: Binatang yang sama dari belakang? Answer: GAJAH EMAS.
Question: 50 avoid 1 to ease? Answer: LELAKI (Toilet).
Question: SATU ‘L’? Answer: LENO.
You might also found out that some question is easy to answer if you know a few facts around it.
Question: A pre Darth Vader Shop?
Please do see as many movies as possible…
Question: Scent of L’Oreal Girl.
Â
 Which One?
Question: A 50-50 physique?Â
 ’L’ is roman character for 50. What about I, V, X, C, M?

I traveled up north early this year a day after coming back to Kuala Lumpur… it is still on the long holidays. I tried to get out early in the morning to avoid an unpredictable traffic on the way back home later in the afternoon. The destination is Bandar Seri Iskandar in ‘Silver’.
To get there, I have been advised to use Gopeng exit, take a right turn, drives straight through Gopeng town, then follow the signboard all the way to Seri Iskandar. But, I found out later in the afternoon that driving through Ipoh City is a better choice.
 ’Mount Kinabalu’?…
I manage to capture this Mount Kinabalu resemblance… if you happened to be in Kundasang or driving from Kota Kinabalu to Ranau… and still remember one of the breathtaking background of a scene in Azura (Ogy and Jamal acted in this movie - incomplete film but still manage to achieve a box office status)… you might said so.
Driving through Gopeng, Batu Gajah and finally arrived at the new town remind me of the Treasure Hunt once I joined and won. The scenic views, clues and tricky questions is just part of the game. You have to try it at least once to experience its great moments.
This castle taught me the meaning of ‘obnoxious’… Dictionary is Hunters best friend during the game. Treasure Hunt is not a race, it is more like sightseeing, but the car sometimes reach 130 to 140 km per hour.
 Kellie’s Castle
Here it is… the town that is still under development… with its two universities, UiTM and UTP.
 Bandar Seri Iskandar
At least there is something to be proud of by local folks.
